About Heritage Press and the Heritage Book Club : George Macy founded the limited editions club in 1929 and began publishing nicely illustrated books. These books were issued in small print runs. Some had original art and were signed by the illustrators. The Heritage Book Club was created in 1937 to satisfy book lovers who weren't able to afford the Limited Editions Club. These books were still nicely printed and issued in protective cardboard slipcovers with a newsletter Sandglass with notes on the book. Some are finely illustrated.
